I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! My sweet girl took a minute to warm up to the concept of the egg hunt, but then she was A FIERCE COMPETITOR. But that’s a post for another day. Today I want to share about this cake…
My paternal grandmother had this amazing cast iron cake mold of a lamb, and from what I can remember (and what my dad has told me) she used to make it every Easter. The mold itself is SO COOL if you’re a baking nerd like me. It LITERALLY requires a screw driver…
The cake comes out with such awesome detail, but then I ice it and it just looks like a sad little coconut puppy. Anyone out there have ideas to show off the detail and still have some kind of icing on it?? When I google “Easter lamb cake,” they all pretty much look like mine, so that makes me feel a bit better. And honestly…I think this is among the best TASTING cakes I make, too!

I love him!! (but in a cute sad lamb/puppy way) š
