A 30 before 30 update + THE FUTURE

Greetings blog readers!

I haven’t been around as much lately here on the blogosphere, and there are many reasons for that. First, I haven’t been doing anything particularly crafty outside of the musical we just wrapped up. Second, to be honest, there is SO MUCH HAPPENING in life right now that blogging just doesn’t fall high on my list. There are also a lot of moving parts that I’m not really ready to share here yet, so it seems hard to come up with anything different to tell you about.

But today I realized I am THREE WEEKS away from my 30th birthday…WHEN DID IT GET TO BE SO LATE IN THE SUMMER? This means that my 30 before 30 list is nearing it’s end.

30

Guys, I totally sucked at this. I think this will be my last list-type mission on this blog…Where did my motivation for crossing off lists go?? As of now, I am 15/30 complete…a whopping 50%. The good news is I have ONE REALLY BIG one pending, that should be wrapped up before my birthday!! More on that when it’s official…no jinxing here. Maybe I’ll manage to make a cheesecake in the next three weeks, too (now accepting your best recipes).

I’m not going to make excuses or explain why some of these items have not been accomplished… life is life, am I right?!

I also think my 30th birthday may mean some changes for this blog. It has truly been a personal journal for me for the last SEVEN YEARS (wow), and while I’ve enjoyed it, I certainly haven’t become any big blogging star. I expect I might write through some of the transitions that are coming up this fall, but beyond that… I’m not sure yet!

What would you like to see? Personal stories and ramblings? Food photography? Home improvement projects? Are you even still reading this post??

THANK YOU for hanging with me, online and in real life. Thank you for your comments and your shout outs. You are the BEST!!!

MM Life Update {Seussical Edition}

If you have noticed that my posts have gotten a tad sparse lately (and if you haven’t, you will)… then, well, you may have figured I’m a busy girl…

So here is what is happening right now, as in, TODAY!

Class: I am reading two books (assigned last weekend) to write a short comparison paper which is due when I get to my first weekend class of the semester on August 27.  And I’m literally starting today, because I just turned in my final 20-page research paper for the class I finished this summer.  I am so blessed to be enjoying what I am studying…otherwise I might just quit.  Worth it? Yes.

Work: The usual. 8-5. Meetings, meetings, reports, reports.  Worth it? Yes.

Health: 6:00 a.m. Pure Barre Classes with my love Christen.  This equals 5:30 a.m. wake up time.  Worth it? Yes.

Friends:  Basically, I have the best in the whole world, and am so grateful for their cumulative patience.  I’m not an easy person to be friends with, especially with a schedule like this!  Looking forward to Whit being in town this weekend to celebrate Carli and Spence’s wedding with me!!  I wonder how much reading I’ll get done…  Worth it? Hell to the yes.

Music: Performing in “Seussical the Musical” which means rehearsal 4-5 nights a week, approximately 6:00-9 or 9:30, with a thirty minute drive on both ends. We also happen to be opening on August 27.  Does that date ring a bell?  Oh, that’s because I also have a paper due.  NBD.  Tech week will be all next week, which means rehearsals will definitely go later than 9, and I will have to leave my first classes of the semester early.  And we got our costumes the other night.  I am a bird. I am yellow. Feathers abound.  And that’s all I have to say on that right now. Worth it? Yes.

So there you have it.  If you have recently been denied the pleasure of my company, I hope you now believe that I was not lying when I said, “I can’t…I have rehearsal/reading/meetings,” or “OMG I JUST NEED SOME SLEEP!”  I look at this little sum up and I can’t help but shake my head at all of the amazing blessings in my life.  I mean, how many people get to do so many things that they love so much??

I can sleep when I’m dead.  Or maybe…when I’m 25…and a half.
