Another Kirsten Hannah book coming at you… I can’t say I loved this as much as I loved The Nightingale, but like all of her books I found it incredibly satisfying. This one is set in the early 2000s during the Iraq War, and is truly a story of rediscovering who you are and the people you love. Truly, a deep look at marriage, war, and American family dynamics.

After reading this book, I felt a new appreciation for the sacrifices our military makes to keep our country free, and the suffering so many of their families have to endure back home. I also felt a new appreciation for the many daily freedoms I take for granted. If you like a drama with just a touch of romance, I encourage you to pick this one up!
