As a fairly new employee at Ohio State, the atmosphere of Big Ten / Buckeye Pride has been somewhat of a culture shock. It gets CRAZY on football saturdays. And one of the coolest things here that I never knew about is the Marching Band. If you don’t know about The Ohio State University Marching Band, you may be rolling your eyes like, “Meghan, it’s a band. Get over it.” But y’all, they are CRAZY GOOD. I mean, I’m so fascinated by Script Ohio alone – something I’m sure everyone around here is so accustomed to that they’ve forgotten how freaking cool it is.
Well, last weekend, the band’s halftime show was a tribute to Michael Jackson, complete with a moonwalk (start around 4:15 to catch that…). It has made such waves that it’s appeared on the Today Show and Good Morning America. And this youtube video, as of my writing this, has had 6,272,494 views. Apparently, You Tube offices have it scrolling on their screens, and it has officially gone “viral.”
Y’all, it’s crazy up in here. Michael Jackson’s mom called us to say thank you. Not kidding.
SO, if you haven’t seen it, check it out. Thoughts? Is it worth the hype to you? I sure think it is!
