My first baked treat in my new kitchen! What did I learn? My oven gets hot. Really hot. I’ve been warned.
Also, sometimes you have to cheat a little, and this was a cheat day. What you see before you is not NEARLY as fancy as it looks. I made strawberry cupcakes from a box (no shame). However, then I whipped up some standard vanilla buttercream, piped it pretty, and tucked a little strawberry on top. I highly recommend this if you ever want something homemade but are lazy/don’t have enough time. Cake from a box + homemade icing is always a treat!
As is getting out my mixer and feeling that oldfamiliar feeling of comfort…
