T-Shirt Quilt Progress

Thanks to Tyler, I’ve finally not only learned to successfully cut my shirts, but they are all cut!  Next step will be buying the rest of the fabric (which probably needs to wait for December’s budget).  But look!  They’re all cut and arranged!

It is so crazy to look at all of these shirts and feel flooded with memories.  Each shirt evokes a smile and a memory of an outfit, a person, or just a great time with my sisters.

Some favorite outfits included: Tinkerbell for the “What I Want To Be When I Grow Up” party, crimpy hair and tericloth for the “80Pi” party, and the ultimate mathlete athlete for “Athletes and Mathletes.”  And on top of all the crazy theme parties, I always loved our formals, dads and moms weekends, and bid days.  I can’t wait to wrap myself up in all of my amazing memories!!

  1. these look great! did you use a rotary cutter or fabric scissors? i’m planning out my adpi quilt but haven’t gotten up the nerve to cut up my t-shirts yet. (also i don’t have a sewing machine in my apartment so really there’s no point!) do you know what kind of fabric you will be using for in between the shirts and the back of the quilt?

    • My plan is to probably use a light tan color in between them–some sort of neutral. I did use a rotary cutter and it was fabulous :) I don’t know what I want the back to be yet–navy maybe? We’ll see :)

  2. Did you finish making your tshirt quilt? I really want to have one made for my graduation present for next year…but I do not have the slightest idea where to begin..I really want to find someone willing to make it for me if I pay them…and who better than a sister?
